A big part of bum marketing is writing articles to promote your product or service. Actually, a big part of any internet marketing scheme should be article writing! I have written for years, and didn’t know squat about writing for the web until I begin to write for different websites on a freelance basis. This has helped to sharpen not only my writing skills, but gets my name out there. I write a lot of informational articles, and it usually keeps me pretty busy. The pay is great, also!

One of my resources is Google Groups. I use it constantly for research, because the purpose of an article is to inform. On groups, you find people asking questions. Answer them. It is simple enough to do as searching Google for your keyword.

Get used to using longtail keyword phrases, because you wish to be very specific in searching for answers. This is the key to good research. Knowing about this type of research is essential, because it cuts down the search factor in time saved by a great deal. If you get in the habit of doing this, you will be much more successful with your research and writing.

A point well taken - if you try to sit down to write with a vague idea of what to write about, but have no clue as to where to begin, remember that almost every topic known to man has been written about some where on the web. If you do a search, and find important information, expand on that. I have zero tolerance for plagarism, but I am also very aware of the fact that every topic has been covered somewhere. And it is where I get my ideas. I simply put my own spin on something I find relevant to the topic I am writing about.

Do this on a regular basis. You will find that it is a great tool to have in your writing arsenal. And your pocketbook will thank you…
